Hayfield Reverse

Riders - Gus, Woody, Ollie, Vally, GordonAfter last time we did Hayfield and finding it rather unpleasant, we decided to try it in reverse. In summary it's still unpleasant. It took it's toll on our bikes again and it means Ollies now got an excuse to upgrade his drivetrain. It was also nice to be able to see more than 10ft - summers on the way!

Classic Lady Ladybower

The long awaited return to the Sheffield Ladybower figure of 8. All in all 4ish hours of hard uphill followed by sometimes exhilarating and sometimes terrifying downhill. Was aching like a trojan the day after...

Longer Run 20-25 minutes in the (still) freezing cold. Stopping every now and then to do a huff and bring up some nasty looking plugs.

Run

Run at dinner time 10-15 minutes. Didn't run much this week, have been struggling a bit with Oscar getting settled and with the over-produciton of mucus at night, possibly combined with wheeziness. I'm not sure whether this is linked to the Tobi I've been taking. Anyway I took myself off Tobi nebs (went back on Colymycin) and gave myself a 5 day course of Ceftazadine left over from last year. I'm also taking a weeks worth of prednisolone prior to the appointment next week to see how my LF shapes up.

Finally did the full Marple-Rowarth loop with V,G and RG. If your fit you can do it in 2.30 hours. We did it in 3.30 hours and I was crawling at the end. RG has just bought a mountain bike as well, and he was struggling just as much a me, which made me feel a bit better about not being as fit as the others. All in all good fun, and the healthiest day I've had in a long time.

run

Quick run at 10PM at night. Very cold again, when is the spring going to start? Varied my breathing again and this seemed to help me run for longer. Had a huffing session after the run and this seemed to bring up more than usual, possibly a combination of the Tobi and exercise combining to kick the bugs arses? Let's hope so!

Run

Another short run (10 minutes) in the icy cold around the block. Tried to use a differnt breathing technique where I breath slower and try to hold it in my lungs for longer. It seemed to work a bit better for keeping going. Need to start increasing the distance I am running, even if it is still bloody cold.

Run

Quick run around the block with stretch halfway round (15 minutes). Can cope if the pace is quite slow, need to work on speeding up for short distances and then slowing down again to get my breath back.

Run

Quick jog around the block at half time in the City game. 10-15 minutes. Felt good, didn't need to stop, but stopped the once to bring up some gunk.

Bike Ride

Bike Ride in Roman Lakes: 2 Hours, some intense uphill work, but struggled to keep up with my 2 mates who were a lot fitter than me, I did feel a bit better than last week though.

This is the course that Olly did. I did half of the course, turning back before New Mills golf club.
